Student Grants

We’re very pleased to be able to offer $500 towards transporation expenses and four (4) nights paid lodging to three (3) graduate students who wish to participate in the DHCS Colloquium, but cannot afford to attend. These grants are made possible by the generous support of the Computation Institute at the University of Chicago.

Terms

  • Grants are available for full-time graduate students in the Humanities or Computer Science
  • Recipients will be selected by the DHCS Program Committee and the Director of the Computation Institute, with preference going to students who have been chosen to present posters or demos, and those who would otherwise not be able to attend
  • A $500 travel stipend can be applied to your transporation expenses
  • Recipients will have rooms reserved and paid for at the International House, within a short walk to all colloquium activities. Check-in is after 3pm on Friday, November 3rd, with check-out before noon on Tuesday, November 7th.

To Apply

For consideration, please send a short (1/2 page) letter to dhcs-conference@listhost.uchicago.edu, explaining the work you do and how it relates to the topic of the colloquium. Applications are due by 9am CST, October 16th, and decisions will be announced on October 20th.
